Professional Bio
Karen Corliss is a seasoned Senior Project Manager and Professional Engineer with BW Design Group who specializes in large-scale capital projects for the Consumer Packaged Goods industry. With over 25 years of experience, she has successfully managed projects exceeding $50 million for leading companies in the food, beverage, and personal care sectors.
Beyond her technical expertise, Karen is a passionate advocate for innovation and education. As the founder of iamamaker.org, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, she has orchestrated massive maker events reaching thousands of participants, fostering creativity and hands-on learning. Her commitment to industry development extends to her role on PMMI's Future Workforce Committee, where she helps create pathways for young talent in the packaging and processing industry.
Having worked with industry giants including Unilever, ConAgra Foods, MillerCoors, and Kraft Foods, Karen brings a wealth of experience in manufacturing optimization, facility design, and strategic project execution. Her engineering background, coupled with her results-driven leadership style, enables her to tackle complex challenges while maintaining a focus on efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
Karen holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and an ME in Engineering Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, combining technical expertise with strategic business acumen to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions.
